Unity Doors is a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of composite and timber doorsets and accessories. A new role for an Operations Controller has been created to join our Manufacturing & Engineering team based at our head office in Newent, Gloucestershire.
Essential details
- Location: Head offices in Newent, Gloucestershire
- Hours of work: 40 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (Some flexibility required dependent on needs of business)
- Salary: Dependent on experience – Up to £35k per annum

Key Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Manufacturing & Engineering Manager and Production Management team with the daily workflow through production
- Liaison with the Production Supervisors and Stock Controller on materials
- Regular communication with Sales Office team to understand changes in customer requirements
- Liaising with Engineering on all breakdowns and machine servicing
- Involvement and attendance at both daily production progress meetings
- Co-ordinate with Warehouse team to facilitate efficient on-time delivery
- Updating and circulation of daily statistics for production and warehouse
- Administrative tasks collating information on machine downtime and daily performance notice board
- Monitoring and administering holidays and return to works for all production staff
- Controlling the Spares and Free of charge replacement products
- Providing support and updates on all engineering project tasks and attendance at all update meetings
Must have Skills, abilities & Characteristics
- Highly organised approach to work and able to react positively to demands from the business
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to influence individuals
- Computer literate – experience of using Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledge and understanding of production processes and machine capacity
- Positive approach to work with a passion to succeed
- A desire to implement positive change within the business
