What are composite doors made from?
By the very nature of their name, composite doors are made up of not just one material, but a number of materials which give the door added strength and durability than simply one material. Traditionally composite doors are made up of solid timber core, an external frame reinforced with steel and subframe featuring uPVC. The end result is a door with robust intrinsic qualities and an outer finish which is modern and highly durable, boasting the pleasing aesthetics of wood, with all the advantages of the latest technically advanced modern materials.

As Made In Britain members you can be assured that our composite doors and composite solid core fire doors, including all doors blanks, are created here in the UK, in our Newest factory. Though we have been supplying the UK market for over 20 years, we’ve invested heavily in order to ensure the highest quality composite doors for our broad customer base.

What kind of Fire Doors do you offer?
At Unity Doors we’re pleased to offer comprehensive collection of solid timber core FD30S fire doors – tested to BS476 Parts 20 & 22 and BS EN 16034, with bi-directional testing and third party IFCC certification. Our flat entrance FD30 door sets are certified to: PAS 24:2016 and what’s more we also offer Dual Certification on a number of our solid core composite fire doors.

Are your composite doors Q Mark BM TRADA certified?
Yes, they are. The BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacturer scheme provides reassurance that our fire doors are of the highest quality and undergo the rigorous compliance needed to achieve the mark.
Where can I find more information about composite door fire testing?
There are plenty of references online, including many sites associated with the British Woodworking Federation whom highlight the importance of investing in the highest quality fire doors which have undergone rigorous testing.
In line with BS 476 Part 22 (BS EN 1634-1), Unity Doors fire door undergo independent UKAS approved testing. Our composite solid core fire door sets were tested in a complete primary fire test; both sides, for 30 minutes.
